The Donut King: what's in the case, and which shop is closest.
A family-owned donut shop that opened on Hwy 27 in Minneola, Florida, in late 2007 and grew to three shops. People who look it up want three things: the donuts, the nearest shop and a way to order ahead. We redesigned the website on WordPress around those three, and every order goes through the shops' own Square account.

Before and after
The project
A donut shop, not a web store.
The old site was built on a theme made for online stores. It had a product search, a category menu and a cart, yet nothing could be bought on it. The homepage listed no shop addresses or phone numbers. Some donuts showed a Coming Soon placeholder instead of a photo, and the review link pointed to Urbanspoon, a service that closed years ago. By August 2026 an Order Now button had been added, linking to a Square site that still had Square's default name. The new site is built around the counter: the donuts, the three shops, and ordering ahead.

What we built.
The whole case, sorted
More than fifty donuts, grouped the way people ask for them: glazed and frosted, candy, cookies and cereal, cake, filled, seasonal, and the King Cake. Every donut has a page of its own.
Ordering through Square
Every Order for pickup button, in the header, on each donut and on each shop, opens the shops' Square Online store. Customers pick a shop, choose their donuts and pay through Square by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Menus, prices and payments stay in the Square account the shops already run.
Order from the table
The Leesburg listing shows the shop's Square order-from-your-table QR code, so customers know they can order from their table there.
A page for every shop
Minneola, Leesburg and Winter Park each have a page with the address, a tap-to-call number, directions, and links to read or leave a review on Google and Facebook.
Built for a phone first
On a phone, Order for pickup and Find your shop are on the first screen, every phone number is a tap to call, and the map loads only when someone asks for it.
Old addresses kept
The old site gave every donut a page. Those pages keep their addresses on the new site, so links and search results that pointed to them still work.
Structured for search
Structured data marks each shop as a bakery with its address and an order action, the donuts as a menu, and the questions page as an FAQ, so search engines and AI answers can read the shops correctly.
The family story, kept
The About page tells the shop's own story, from the first shop on Hwy 27 in 2007 to three locations, with the shop's own photographs and artwork.
These are design and technical changes, not measured results. The new site launched on 21 October 2026. There is no order, traffic or ranking data yet, and none is claimed here.
The whole page
Top to bottom.
The old homepage beside the new one, both captured at the same desktop width. The new one goes from the donuts to the kinds of donut, the dozens, the family story, reviews and the three shops, then ends on ordering ahead.

Mobile
On a phone.
The same first screen on a phone. The old one opens on the logo and a cart. The new one opens on the shop's promise, Order for pickup and Find your shop.

The redesign
Inside the new site.
The donuts, a single donut, the three shops, one shop up close, the family story and the questions customers ask.
